Project Overview:
AVEKA was approached by a company looking to encapsulate an aqueous solution of active ingredients for a personal care application. The product was required to be free flowing and stable dry powder. As well as ease of stability, the microcapsules needed to be strong enough to withstand equipment and industry strains, while still being able to rupture and release the aqueous content with the slightest rub of the fingers.

AVEKA Solution:
AVEKA's was successfully in creating a proprietary process of encapsulating an aqueous solution into a dry powder, which upon rupture, returns to a liquid form. This process has been dubbed Water Bead technology.
The product was an instant success, and a personal care production suite was installed at AVEKA. For several years, AVEKA has manufactured and packaged the Water Bead product for this customer. During this time, AVEKA has worked through numerous process optimization efforts in response to formulation changes by the client.
