  Project Overview:
The customer had a need for their nanoparticles to be agglomerated into a bead-like form for a water treatment application. Alginate was chosen as the binder due to its water permeability, versatility, and ease of use.

AVEKA Solution:
For this project, AVEKA co-developed a dry alginate bead containing the nanoparticles that remove specific impurities from drinking water.
To begin, we first conducted lab research and development to perfect the formula, and then moved on to large scale production. An exclusive AVEKA method was used to create production rates that were much higher than standard drip casting agglomeration methods, providing a distinct advantage.
AVEKA used its liquefying, liquid handling, and bead-making expertise coupled with a strong analytical capability in order to achieve a product that was superior to existing products. The client is now a recurring production customer because of AVEKA's ability to consistently meet their needs.
