Project Overview:
The client needed colored beads for use in a personal care application. The beads would ultimately be incorporated into a waxy matrix which would be gradually worn away during use.
Hence, the client requested that the beads be durable enough to survive the incorporation process at elevated temperature, but soft enough to rub out simultaneously with the waxy matrix. They also wanted it to have the same density as the matrix material.

AVEKA Solution:
AVEKA met the requirements of this customer by using their patented Gel Bead technology. This enabled the use of several independent control handles to design a bead that was soft at room temperature, durable enough at elevated temperature to survive the incorporation process, and density-matched to the waxy medium in which it was suspended.
